1. European standards

Pacifiers

All BIBS pacifiers are certified to conform to the EU directive concerned with safety, health, and environment: EN 1400+A2.

The standard is divided into three parts:

• General safety requirements
• Mechanical requirements
• Chemical requirements specify safety requirements relating to the materials, construction, performance, packaging, and product information for soothers.

Pacifier clips

Our pacifier clip is certified according to applicable safety requirements in Europe and the EN 12586 standard. The standard mainly focuses on potential chemical hazards and strangulation hazards caused by pacifier holders that are too long.

The standard covers:

• Material restrictions
• Safety measures
• Mechanical testing
• Chemical testing
• Instruction for use
• Packaging
• Dimensional measurement

In addition, the clip itself is tested according to EN 1400:2018-11 which
covers nickel release. Further, our pacifier clip is made of 100% organic
cotton, and the wooden details are FSC-approved.

Toys

Our Baby Bitie teething toy and baby loops are certified according to:

• EN 71-1 covers mechanical and physical properties like material
cleanliness, tension test, drop test, impact test, etc.
• EN 71-2 covers flammability
• EN 71-3 covers migration of certain elements e.g., cadmium, mercury,
nickel, and lead
• The CE marking indicates that products are sold in the EEA have been assessed to meet high safety, health, and environmental protection requirements

Textiles

All our textiles are 100% organic cotton. Our swaddle and cloth are
tested accordingly:

• ISO 5077 covers the determination of dimensional change in washing and
drying
• ISO 105-B02 covers determining the effect on the color of textiles of
all kinds and in all forms to the action of an artificial light source
representative of natural daylight
• ISO 105-X12 covers determining the resistance of the color of textiles
when being washed

Our Bandana Bib is tested according to the following standards due to
its function going around the baby’s neck:

• EU 1007 covers the determination of fiber content
• ISO 14184-1 covers the determination of formaldehyde
• ISO 3071 covers the determination of pH of aqueous extract
• ISO 6330 covers domestic washing and drying procedures for textile
testing e.g., color change, staining, pilling, and durability
• DIN 53160-1/2 cover fastness to saliva and sweat
• EN 14362-1 covers the determination of certain aromatic amines derived
from azo colorant

Our Baby Bedding is tested to follow the standard:

• EN 16732 covers pull test of the zippers
