BIBS’ Commitments
BIBS’ work with environmental, social, and governance is focused on our entire supply chain – all from creating sustainable designs, using sustainable raw materials in our products, reducing the CO2 emission in our production to using recycled materials in our packaging, and much more. Read more about our various commitments below.
Production facilities
All BIBS products, made of plastic, are produced at our production facility in Hillerød, Denmark. Having our own factory means that we are in total control of the products from A-Z. From the initial idea to the very first doodle on paper to the testing of materials, testing of functionality, and in the end standing with the finished product in our hands.

Renewable energy
We are on a journey to become fully supplied by renewable energy in our own and external production facilities. We have started our journey and in 2020 we teamed up with the Danish company Ørsted to optimize our production and move towards a greener production line. Now all the electricity that we use to produce our products, made in our production facilities in Denmark, is covered with certificates from renewable energy production from European wind turbines. This is one of our investments in cleaner production. We are very aware that these certificates are not the solution to ending greenhouse gas emissions. But at BIBS, we want to take an active part in green growth, and with this agreement, we are committed to supporting sustainable development.
Materials
Plastic is an important material for BIBS and will continue to be so in the future. It is one of the basic elements in many of our products and because of its great properties. Though, we are constantly exploring new materials and treatments that are safe, durable, and environmentally friendly.

Responsible packaging and store displays
We have made many conscious choices regarding our packaging and the materials used. Read a detailed review of the different materials we use for our packaging, our journey to minimizing our packaging, and how we through the design of our packaging, encourage customers to properly waste sort the various materials in our packaging.

Sustainable purchasing policy
All suppliers must live up to our Code of Conduct. We recognize our responsibilities to workers for the conditions under which our products are made. Our Code of Conduct contains, among other things:
- Working conditions must comply with the international labor standards (ILO)
- Material processing must comply with Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) to ensure the environment is not harmed by the production of BIBS’ products. Further, all products must comply with all restricted substances described in the REACH regulation. We have a restricted substances list in addition to the above.
Transparency
At BIBS transparency means sharing relevant information about our supply chain, products, standards, and policies. That way our customers and partners always know how and where our products are made, and how we work. We believe that transparency creates comparability and accountability both for customers to make more informed purchasing decisions and for companies across industries to improve their sustainability performance themselves.
Standards and certifications
All our products are made in compliance with international safety standards and certifications.
Testing
Quality is incredibly important to BIBS. We want to make sure that you always get a satisfying experience when buying BIBS products. That is why we always test our products in various ways. We both do internal tests and use external experts to secure the safest products

Recycling of waste
We have taken many steps to ensure that our products become increasingly sustainable, for example by increasing reuse and recycling. All the PP waste from our production is sent to the Danish company AVL, which is the largest company in recycling high-quality plastic in the North.

Transportation
We mainly use DSV to transport our products around the world from our production machine to our customer’s doorstep. We have chosen DSV because it can meet our requirements and desires to reduce our climate footprint. DSV works continuously on reducing the environmental impact of the company’s operations. One of the primary impacts stems from the air pollution from the company’s road transport. As a result of DSV’s focus on purchasing new trucks, better utilization of equipment and fuel*. To minimize our carbon footprint, we always seek to ship our products overseas by ship.
